Greg Moran

Director Government Innovation Services


Greg Moran is the Director of Government Innovation Services for the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC). Greg has worked predominately in the human and health services domain, assisting government agencies and sites in implementing innovation programs and assisting with commercialisation. He has extensive experience in government operations including developing and directing government programs and implementing change within government agencies. Greg now works across multiple domains and sectors assisting clients from government, research, and industry to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Greg’s current responsibilities include: 

  • Promoting strategic management of Government intellectual property (IP) and assets
  • Facilitating further development of government owned IP through industry and research collaboration 
  • Implementing frameworks and mechanisms to encourage better sharing of IP across agencies and with other jurisdictions within Australia; and  
  • Developing industry and research linkages with government and across business domains and sectors, both nationally and internationally.

Greg has significant experience in strategic business planning, policy development, and governance within government, including investment planning and capital management, procurement, and project management, particularly within information management and information communications technology (ICT) programs.  

Greg leads commercial negotiations for government with industry partners as part of AIC core activity in delivering and finalising agreements. Greg has a Bachelor of Commerce and a number of post graduate management certificates.

Greg works collaboratively, is professional, positive, outcome focused and enjoys working in challenging environments where there is major government policy, economic and commercial benefits for stakeholders.
